My Story...So Far!
I'm Pat. I'm an American living between the Netherlands and Scotland, which is something I never could have predicted but wouldn't trade for anything.
I've been a historian, a teacher, a singer, and a traveler, and somehow all of those paths led me here.
I've spent most of my career studying medieval European history. I earned my PhD researching the people and places that shaped the world centuries ago. That love of digging into the past never left me. It's what drives Tea and Travels, and it's why I believe everyone deserves to know the story of where they came from.
I've taught English and history at every level, from secondary school classrooms to university lecture halls. What I've learned over all those years is that the best teaching doesn't feel like teaching at all. It feels like a good conversation. That's the idea behind Tea and Tutoring.
My Music
Music has been woven through my whole life. I've taught singing and piano, and I performed for years with Rosa Minstrels. We even recorded a Christmas album together, "Célébrons la naissance," which you can still listen to on Bandcamp.
All of these experiences have one thing in common: they're about connecting with people around the world, and creating a deeper connection to yourself.
